Fading Paths

"Life is a gift like fresh cut roses. Cut from the branch and brought inside. It's a slow contradiction, it's beauty in a vase. When our cords are cut that's when we start to die."

-Jon Foreman.

No weapon of man's construction could ever stand up to the clocks swinging pendulum. It's rhythmic tick-tock, doesn't need a guidance system to find you. It's with you now and always has been. Nothing you do can separate its grasp on your life. Every tick of time offers a taste of life and the promise of death.

Time forces us to walk down a path, all that's left us is the choice of which path to take. As we choose one path, another fades out of view. Life's choices are more numerous than stars in the sky, or drops of the ocean, who could know them all, who could possibly make a perfect choice?

"5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever;" Psalms 146:5-‬6 ESV

The almighty God of all that is, that was and is to come, the God of time itself is able to guide us currently in all things. His help is a blessing.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 ESV

Simply ask. . . stop. . . read that again and REALLY think about it.

Which paths are fading in your past today, how do you know your choices are right and true?

This challenge I put to you and myself. Practice earnest, honest prayer to God before every decision today, less you miss a blessing that God wants for you. Expect him to answer you, according to his perfect will, as he has promised.
