Sometimes, life gets long.
It gets tedious.
It gets monotonous.
And I am in one of those spells. It happens. But, why? Well, I recently got engaged. I'm working my dream job and it is going well. I am coaching a fantastic group of girls on a volleyball team. My family and friends are in good health, as am I.
However, honestly I am just feeling tired. So what could be causing this? We all experience these times of what I can only describe as spiritual and emotional lethargy.
What is the solution?
As believers, we are called to be light in this world. Because of that, how we handle the dark times needs to be a demonstration of Christ and a life that is grounded in him. I can't explain why these times happen. Sometimes it's an attitude issue, maybe a lack of time invested in the work, and it's possible a physical problem comes into play. Regardless of why these issues happen, there is but one constant when we don't know what is going on or what to do. That constant is the everlasting, unchanging, all-knowing God. The comfort it can bring knowing that God sees exactly how this situation is going to end is intense. When you find yourself in a hard, dry time like this, take notice of the one thing that never changes in the speed of this breakneck world - the consistency of our Maker.
Psalm 94:19: "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."
