Unshaken

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.” - Psalm 62.5-6

God designed us to find the deepest fulfillment of our hearts in Him alone. Therefore, when He is not our only rock, our only salvation, we can sure be shaken, can’t we?

I love these verses because they are so simple, yet so powerful. There is nobody but Jesus in whom we are able to fully trust, to get help from, and hope in.

Sometimes there are bumps in the road as we are going through life; hardships, unexpected circumstances…And it is pretty easy to get our eyes off of Jesus. When our eyes are off of Him, for even a moment, that is when fearful, anxious thoughts come into our minds. Those are the moments in which we begin to doubt His sovereignty over us, and His deep love for us. We are most vulnerable when we are not clinging to our Savior’s hand. When we fall away from God, or fall into sin.. I can guarantee that has nothing to do with His flaws. God is faithful to be there for us, always. To be our Rock, our Fortress.

Today, let’s adjust our focus. Do whatever it takes to get your eyes back on Him. Repent, pray, and spend some time with Him. Remove any and all distractions. Cling to Him, and you will not be shaken.
