Why do you do what you do? That seems so general, and yet it is something we all should ponder in our pursuit of seeking to have the most Christ-like attitude we can. Is your goal to please God and show him to those around all day, every day? Granted, of course, no one is perfect, but what are your main intentions as you walk day by day through your life?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says: "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
Our actions and words are to glorify God. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, we are to be intentional about who we are promoting - The Maker of Heaven, not ourselves. When our focus is on self, whether we realize it or not, we miss opportunities to speak the important things into others lives. You are encouraging something in every interaction; what is it?
Every conversation and each moment we are given with people is a gift from God. It is also a calling to use those moments and conversations wisely. Take a moment and think about your last five interactions.
Did you miss opportunities?
I did too, when I thought about it.
I encourage you to go out from this moment and seek to be aware of your words and actions towards others. If you miss the mark, seek to improve in prayer. I am praying for you that you will take those opportunities that are given and use them for His glory!
