Sustain: to strengthen or uphold.
This week I found myself adoring a new characteristic of God I had not understood before. The kind way he sustains us. School is ending, Thanksgiving is over, and sometimes when a lot of stuff is going on in your life it is hard to feel strengthened.
David exclaims the sustaining nature of our God in the psalms.
Psalm 55:22- “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 51:12- “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit.”
Psalm 89:21- (God speaking to David) “My hand will sustain him; surely My arm will strengthen him.”
There are many, many examples of the Lord strengthening those who have no strength, and it really encouraged me to know that. Understand that when you walk in His ways He is looking out for you, He WILL strengthen you and He WILL uphold you.
Challenge- I found ONE attribute of the Lord that comforted me, while your reading your bible this week, look for something God is showing you about himself and how to apply it to a situation you are going through.
Much love as always!
