Shattered

Make no qualms about it….Life is hard.

Oftentimes we reach verdict regarding the struggle we observe in others based on external factors; coming to conclusions without understanding the struggle beneath the surface, and consequently diagnosing the issues with as much craft and care as a sledgehammer to a stained glass window.

Well….that’s humans.  We are a clumsy, misguided, self focused lot.  We’re a product of a world that has raised us, to crush us….born us, to break us.

As D.A. Carson says about this place in which we live: “This world is a damned place.”

And indeed it is….condemned for the sin which saturates it...one day...it will be judged accordingly.  God’s timing thankfully...not mine.

Back to the observed struggle and the root deep within…

Whether human external observation reveals positive results or negative...the truth beneath the surface...in the dark crevices of the heart is where we must be healed.  And for those who struggle with darkness in their heart….deep inside where it seems that none will ever penetrate deep enough to aid...the truth is: no person can delve into the depths of our pain and struggle.  That’s the truth.  Equally as truthful and far more encouraging is this: God can.

Where we reach the end of our ability is where God’s ability is just getting warmed up.

I submit the following for you to consider from Psalm 34.17-19:

“The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.

He rescues them from all their troubles.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;

he rescues those whose spirit’s are crushed.

The righteous person faces many troubles,

but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”

God’s interaction with us is on heart-level.  He isn’t limited to only knowing what we are willing to show Him in our actions or facial expressions.  No, He sees shattered hearts, and He is near. He sees our spirit within crushed, and He rescues.

Psalm 147.3 adds:

“He heals the brokenhearted

and bandages their wounds”

Do you belong to Jesus?  If so, never forget, that He heals our shattered hearts, bandages up our wounds, and rescues us….INSIDE.  Oh, He can rescue us from physical troubles as well...but far more importantly He heals us from within and rescues our souls from the fate of this condemned world.

If you do not belong to Jesus, we want to talk to you about Him.  Where you stand with Him is a matter of life and death.  Email us here, calvaryrathdrumyouth@gmail.com, so we can help you come to know Him so that you can pass from death to life!

The struggle is real.  I deal with it just the same as you do from within my own soul...but when you know Jesus, it not only means that He heals you from within, but He makes us family, you and I, so that we don’t have to struggle alone.  We can encourage and walk in this adventure together because of what He does within us.  So what are you waiting for?  Let’s do this thing called life together, allowing Jesus to bandage and heal our brokenness, because we no longer belong to this world that bore us to break us; but rather we have been born again in Jesus and we belong to Him.

May God’s grace change and build up all who have read these words,
