Perspective is Job 1

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Job 1:21

The Lord often has interesting or confusing ways of showing His love for us. In Job’s story, for example, God allowed everything to be swept away from his blameless servant in the blink of an eye. Maybe many of you have faced traumatic trials that leave you with nothing and no one but God to cling to for protection and grace. We often default to anger, blame, pride, and many other sinful reactions that, though they may seem reasonable in the moment, still leave us at rock bottom with nothing left. In Job’s story, he was given a choice in which he had to choose to worship or disown God’s name. He, although heartbroken and confused, fell before the Lord and was pleasing in God’s sight. His earthly possessions and the people around him were not what kept him going or gave his life meaning. They meant something to him but were not what brought him to the place of great wealth and success that he had reached.

“Then the dust will return to God who gave it. ‘Vanity of vanities,’ says the Preacher, ‘All is vanity.’ Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:78, 13b14

The things of this world are not eternal. Friends and family will pass on. The treasures you hold here are nothing in the light of eternity. I want to encourage each and every one who is reading this to thank God for the wonderful people and treasures He has given you in this life. He gives and takes away as He wills often to grow your spiritual walk and fellowship with Him.

Praise Him through your struggles and give thanks to Him in your hardships, and he will bring you through. He will never place a trial in your life too difficult to withstand. It is merely yourjob to grab hold of His eternal promises and give Him the glory for bringing you to where you now stand.

I love you all so much and hope this touched your hearts <3
